View ArticleThread: The Ladies of Troyes:: General:: Why is this game so expensive?
by iamdannywu Even the original base game of Troyes is cheaper on online retailers such as coolstuffinc. I would like to get this expansion but it's so expensive for the materials in it.

by biffta Very much agree, it is very expensive for the few contents.I guess it's to guarantee some sort of return to the designers/publishers.I purchased it, such a great game :)

by chris1nd Funagain has Troyes for $44 and Ladies for $36. So the expansion is about %80 the cost of the original, FWIW.

by Svartisen The English version by Z-MAN is about 25% more expensive than the German version, and costs almost as much as the base game, at least here in Poland (German edition - 75% of the base's...

by chris1nd CoolStuff just has a really good price on the base game: $30. I am guessing many payed more for the base game than that. The expansion seems consistently priced across online stores.

View ArticleReply: The Ladies of Troyes:: Strategy:: Re: Ramparts useful in 2 player games?
by Svartisen Yes. I share your view. We hardly use them in a 2P game. In 3-4P game the ramparts are used more if we include purple dice. The reason may be, that in a 2P game there's always a better way...
View ArticleReply: The Ladies of Troyes:: Strategy:: Re: Ramparts useful in 2 player games?
by aniaga I think it depends much on which ramparts are in the game and if they make a combo with cards - if you can make a good combination then the ramparts will be used, but there must be some...
