This is likely too late for you, but perhaps others might find this useful. I recently got my Pearl/German version of The Ladies, and compared to the ZMAN/English version, the following is what I noticed. As other mentioned already, the orange cubes/meeples are quite different from each version, but that is pretty immaterial. As for the cards, *in comparing my sets* the Pearl/German card are consistently slightly dark than the ZMAN/English cards. It is pretty slight, but to me, it is noticeable. Full disclosure, I haven't yet played with the expansion to see if I can truly pick them out while playing, but while shuffling them, I can. In the attached image, the Pearl cards are in the top row, while the ZMAN cards are in the bottom, again it's a pretty slight difference, but the zigzag lines are consistently darker as are the background colors. However, I really don't think it's a huge deal. Anyway, hope that helps.

I second this. My German version card backs are darker than the English base game card backs.

Best solution I can think of is shuffle the decks, leave them off the board, and pull a card from the bottom of the appropriate deck when time to reveal the next activity card.
